About our role

We are now looking for a talented Assistant Public Affairs Manager to be part of our dynamic team based at our headquarters in One Island East. The incumbent will assist Senior Public Affairs Manager on the corporate communications strategy using various suitable channels and prepare bilingual corporate collaterals, including Company’s lines-to-take, press releases, and other reports for the team. He / She needs to manage and regularly update the Company’s fact sheets, corporate website and other collaterals. He / She also needs to monitor both traditional and social media platforms to keep the company abreast of current affairs relevant to the Company’s businesses.

Responsibilities will include

  • Take an active role in maintaining media relations by developing news angles, pitching and liaising with media

  • Handle media enquiries and complaints and prepare responses independently

  • Plan and implement public relations programmes to maximise public awareness and gain support from district councillors, community groups and local residents for our projects

  • Plan, execute and implement corporate PR communications projects, including sustainable development and  communications projects

  • Assist Senior Public Affairs Manager in managing issues and crisis

  • Prepare and edit corporate collaterals, including press releases, corporate fact sheets, financial and sustainability reports and internal announcements

  • Review news reports and provide synopsis of news relevant to the company for senior management

Together with creativity, integrity and passion, our ideal staff should be / have

  • Degree in Mass Communications, Journalism, Literature, Political Science or related disciplines

  • 5 years’ experience in Public Affairs or Corporate Communications in large-scale organisations or PR agencies of which 4 years in supervisory/ managerial position

  • Experience in issue handling will be an advantage

  • Excellent communication, writing and organisational skills

  • Excellent problem solving skills, ability to perform under pressure

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese (both Putonghua and Cantonese)
